About With Ease Therapy Space In Guelph, Ontario
Learn more about my background and education in psychotherapy, as well as my therapeutic approaches, areas of treatment, and more.
About Me
I'm Taylor – a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with a Master's in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I work with adolescents and adults across a range of experiences, and I bring experience from an addictions background, post-secondary wellness, social services, and private practice. That breadth of experience shapes how I work: practically, relationally, and always with the client in front of me at the centre.
I’m a therapist because I believe that understanding yourself more deeply – how you think, feel, connect, and respond – is some of the most meaningful work there is. That curiosity about people and what shapes them is at the heart of everything I do.
Reaching out takes courage, and I don't take that lightly. My commitment to you is a space that feels safe, honest, and without judgment. A collaborative space that is entirely yours.
Get To Know Me
Outside the therapy space, you'll find me somewhere between a sports game, a canvas, or a good book – sometimes all in the same day. I'm creative and curious by nature, and I genuinely love learning. I'm the kind of person who gets excited about a good idea or a story that makes me see things differently.
When I'm not doing any of that, I'm with my people. Family and friends are a big part of my life. I love a good laugh, a meaningful conversation, and the kind of time spent with others that leaves you feeling full rather than drained.

My Therapeutic Approaches
My approach is client-centred and trauma-informed – meaning you are the expert on your own experience, and we move at a pace that feels right for you. I bring a compassionate lens to everything we do, and I believe that healing happens not just in the mind, but in the body too.
To support our work, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches depending on what you need most:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Exploring the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and building practical tools to shift patterns that aren't serving you.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Developing skills around emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and navigating relationships with more ease.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Working from your strengths and what's already working, rather than staying focused solely on what isn't.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Meeting you where you are, especially when change feels complicated or uncertain.
Somatic Approaches
Tuning into what the body is holding, and using body-based awareness to support healing that talk therapy alone sometimes can't reach.
We'll work collaboratively to shape a treatment plan that fits you because I believe that therapy isn't a one size fits all journey.
Taylor’s Favourite With Ease Recommended Read
Set Boundaries, Find Peace - Nedra Tawwab
This book highlights the philosophy that setting boundaries is a form of self-care; healthy boundaries are important to creating a healthy balance and fostering rewarding relationships (friends, family, and partners). Set Boundaries, Find Peace lays out how to establish healthy boundaries and allows you to understand your feelings and intentions. It encourages you to explore what boundaries are, different types of boundaries and how to honour them.
Worthy
-
This book is a powerful reminder that our worth isn't something we have to earn through achievement, perfection, or the approval of others. Many of the clients I work with struggle with self-doubt, people-pleasing, or feeling "not enough," and this book offers a compassionate perspective on building self-worth from the inside out. Through personal stories, practical insights, and reflective exercises, Worthy encourages readers to reconnect with their inherent value and approach themselves with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Burnout
-
This book highlights why stress isn't just about what causes it. It's also about how we move through and recover from it. Grounded in science and written with warmth and humor, the authors explain the importance of completing the stress cycle, setting healthy boundaries, and cultivating self-compassion. I recommend this book to clients who feel emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or caught in the pressure to constantly do more, as it offers practical strategies for restoring balance and well-being.
What Happened to You?
-
This book offers a compassionate shift in perspective from asking, "What's wrong with me?" to "What happened to me?". Blending neuroscience, psychology, and real-life stories, the authors explore how our early experiences shape our emotions, relationships, and responses to stress. I recommend this book because it helps readers better understand the connection between past experiences and present patterns, while fostering greater self-compassion and hope for healing.
Attached
-
This book introduces the science of attachment theory and how our attachment styles can influence the way we connect in romantic relationships. Through practical examples and research-based insights, the authors help readers understand patterns of closeness, communication, conflict, and emotional needs. I recommend this book to clients who want to better understand themselves in relationships, break recurring patterns, and build healthier, more secure connections with others.
